Health & Safety - Durkan New Homes

Health and Safety is a matter that is taken very seriously in our company. All of our developments are actively managed from the design stage right through to completion. All of our employee's take an active part in achieving a high standard of Health & Safety awareness and taking preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on our sites. In June 2006, Durkan New Homes were awarded the Safe T Certificate. The Safe T Certificate is awarded to companies whom achieve an exemplary standard from its policies to the delivery of a safe working environment on site. This certification is awarded by an independent body and Durkan New Homes were assed on every aspect of health and safety matters pertaining to the construction industry. Certification is mutually recognised in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Durkan New Homes are the first private residential developer in Ireland to receive this award which demonstrates our commitment to Health & Safety.

Durkan New Homes were also recently were awarded an award in the Occupational Health & Safety category at the annual NISO (National Irish Safety Organisation) conference and this is an achievement we are very proud of.
Durkan New Homes also take an active role in trying to develop educational based programmes to help in the prevention of accidents on site from young children and were joint sponsors in the "Play Safe Stay Safe Campaign" which is a nationwide programme designed to inform children about the dangers of entering construction sites. Durkan New Homes have delivered this programme to schools in the areas where we are building and it is to remind young children that construction sites are not playgrounds.
